There is no universal best material. Choose nylon for a soft woven feel and continuous adjustment, silicone for a smooth surface that is simple to rinse, or FKM for a denser, more structured rubber feel.
Quick material comparison
| Material | Typical BlackPro construction | Adjustment | Care focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Woven nylon | Soft textile loop | Hook-and-loop | Allow fabric to dry fully |
| Silicone | Smooth molded band | T-clasp, buckle, or pin-and-tuck | Rinse and dry after sweat |
| FKM fluororubber | Dense structured loop | T-clasp | Wipe or rinse, then dry clasp and band |
The table describes the current BlackPro catalog, not every band made from these broad material families.
Nylon: soft textile feel
BlackPro’s nylon products use woven construction and hook-and-loop adjustment. That combination allows small fit changes without fixed buckle holes. Nylon is the current catalog’s textile option for people who prefer a softer fabric feel.
Because fabric can retain moisture, let it air dry completely after cleaning or heavy sweat. Current options include the Hume Band 1.0 Nylon Loop and Fitbit Air Nylon Performance Loops.
Silicone: smooth and rinse-friendly
Silicone gives the BlackPro catalog a smooth molded surface and the widest closure variety. Hume Band 1.0 options include T-clasp, buckle, and pin-and-tuck designs; Fitbit Air options include active-band silhouettes.
After heavy sweat, use fresh water and a soft cloth, then dry the band before wearing again. “Silicone” alone does not establish a medical, allergy, or water-resistance rating.
FKM: dense and structured
FKM is a fluororubber material. In the current BlackPro catalog, the Premium FKM Loop has a denser, more structured feel than the woven nylon alternatives and uses a T-clasp.
BlackPro does not claim that FKM is universally more durable, hypoallergenic, chemical-proof, or medically preferable. Choose it for its product-specific feel and shape, then follow the care information on the listing.
A conservative care baseline
For all three materials: remove the tracker if the product instructions allow it, use a soft non-abrasive cloth and fresh water, add only a small amount of mild hypoallergenic hand soap when needed, remove residue, and let the band dry completely.
This is a conservative cross-material baseline informed by wearable manufacturers’ published care guidance. It is not a substitute for BlackPro product-specific testing or the instructions on the current listing.
